ABOUT ME
Hello everyone!
My name is Maggie Fitzgerald and I am a multi-skilled student journalist at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I will be graduating from Temple University's Lew Klein College of Media and Communication with a degree in broadcast journalism. I discovered my love storytelling through my background in theatre, which led me to take my talents from the stage to the studio.
During my time as an Owl, I've concentrated my efforts in developing my skills both in front and behind the camera while producing and anchoring for Temple University's award-winning weekly live newscast, Temple Update. I also serve as Main Host and Co-Executive Producer of Temple University TV's very own entertainment talk show, Temple Talk. Fueled by my passions for news and entertainment, I've conducted various interviews with community leaders like the late President Joanne Epps, entertainment stars like Dave Franco, and pursued various competitive internships at ABC, NBC and CBS. In my free time, I love to binge on the latest trending movies/TV series and travel with my loved ones.
I have received a number of awards through my years at TempIe, including the 2022 Jessica Savitch Broadcast Journalism Award and the 2023 S.W. Calkins Memorial Award. I was also named a 2023 finalist in the CBI's National Student Production Awards and Temple University's Media Studies and Production Awards. I also serve as a proud student member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia.
I am a South Jersey native and grew up right outside of Philadelphia. When I am not working, I like to explore new restaurants around the city, stay active, and spend time with my loved ones, especially my golden retriever, Murphy. I encourage you to explore this website and check out some of my work.
Please feel free to follow me on socials and reach out to me with any questions or comments.
