Welcome to my website! My name is Maggie Fitzgerald and I'm from South Jersey. I am a senior attending Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.  I currently study Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Content Creation.

My inspiration to pursue this career started when I was 5 years old. My brother Cole was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma at age 2 and our family became ambassadors for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation a year into his treatment. I always enjoyed our fundraising events and doing activities that spread awareness about the underfunded cause of childhood cancer, but it wasn’t until our family appeared on Alex’s Lemonade Annual Telethon on our local CBS station that I was completely enamored with how the production team operated and the stories they would tell to promote awareness.

​The lights, the cameras, the reporters… I was always bright-eyed and excited to be amidst all the excitement that a live television show creates. I've learned firsthand that communication and reporting stories truly are an act of service and I hope to be a storyteller and continue this work as part of my career aspirations. 

Entertainment has always been an integral part of my life since I was a little girl. I discovered my passion for storytelling through my background in theatre, which led me to take my talents from the stage to the studio. I can talk for hours and provide useful insight on movies, shows, theatre, pop-culture, celebrity news, etc...  I am determined to pursue a career in broadcast media to spread information, positive messages, and preserve the memory of events through video and digital storytelling. 

Currently, I am pursuing both on-air and producing opportunities on Temple's campus and beyond. I serve as a producer & main anchor for Temple's Emmy-award winning newscast, "Temple Update." I also get to cover the latest news in pop culture as Executive Producer & Main Host of Temple's award-winning entertainment talk show, "Temple Talk." 

I am also a current Community Engagement Intern at WPVI-TV here in Philadelphia. I grew up watching 6abc Action News with my family every night, so getting the chance to learn from some of the best is a full-circle experience.
